Environmental Review:
Consultants

The following consultants have been determined to meet qualification standards for cultural resource management professionals.  These standards (promulgated by the National Park Service and published in 36 CFR Part 61) define minimum education and experience required to perform identification, evaluation, registration and treatment activities for historic properties and archaeological sites.  In some cases, additional areas or levels of expertise may be needed, depending on the complexity of the task and the nature of the properties involved.

These lists are distributed for the convenience of property owners, planners, and others who wish to hire consultants on a contractual basis for cultural resource documentation purposes. The Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation serves only in a referral capacity and does not guarantee the quality of work produced by the consultants.

Project costs may vary considerably between companies.  It is recommended that more than one estimate be obtained.  It is also recommended that a contract containing language that specifies that a report, meeting the minimal reporting standards of DAHP, will be provided as a product included in the cost of the project, and that a schedule of project completion (including any fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and report production) also be included in the contract.  Historic preservation consulting is a professional business.  It is recommended that you take the same care selecting a consultant as you would any contractor.

Consultant Lists

Preservation Contractors and Supplier Lists

These lists are distributed for the convenience of property owners, planners, and others who wish to hire contractors or to purchase supplies relating to the restoration, rehabilitation, and/or preservation of historic properties. The Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation serves only in a referral capacity and does not guarantee the quality of work nor the quality of the product.  The list are served up in a Microsoft Excel format in order to allow for the researcher to organize the list as to how they see fit.
