Today is February 1 and the first day of the 2019 Black History Month.  To celebrate our African American heritage, the Friends of DuPont Buffalo Soldier History have joined with the Buffalo Soldiers Museum in Tacoma, the Lewis Army Museum, and the DuPont Historical Museum to host an exhibit on Buffalo Soldier history plus an Open House, all at the DuPont Historical Museum. The Iron Horse Inn in South Cle Elum was heavily damaged by a fire on November 4th. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 as the Milwaukee Road Bunkhouse, the building was built in 1909 for railroad crews and was thought to be one of the few remaining examples of this property type left in the state.
