2011-2013 HERITAGE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND APPLICATION WORKSHOPS ANNOUNCED

Garry Schalliol, Director of Outreach Services at the Washington State Historical Society, has announced a series of workshops in anticipation of the application deadline for the 2011-2013 Heritage Capital Projects Fund (HCPF) grant program. Since 1997, the HCPF has supported local leaders in communities across the state as they have worked to preserve our heritage, interpret its meaning, and serve the public. HCPF grants have assisted 198 local heritage projects, resulting in the preservation and reuse of historic buildings, ships, railroad equipment in addition to construction of new museums, interpretive centers, and collection curation facilities. The three workshops are scheduled for: March 24: Moses Lake Museum and Art Center March 25: Washington State History Museum in Tacoma March 26: Duwamish Longhouse in Seattle All workshops run from 10:00 am to noon. No registration is required. For more information, contact Garry at garry@wshs.wa.gov or 253-7908-5879 or go to their website.
