2011 LUSHOOTSEED CONFERENCE: YAHOW! LIFTING THE LANGUAGE

The 2nd annual Lushootseed Language Conference will be held on Saturday April 30th at Seattle University.  The purpose of this conference is to bring Lushootseed language teachers and students and others interested in cultural preservation together to share teaching resources, and to explore strategies for stabilizing the language and fostering fluent speakers in future generations.  Also known as Puget Salish, Lushootseed is the Native American language spoken in much of the Puget Sound region.  The program will highlight new technological tools, immersion programs, and ways to integrate language instruction with traditional skills.  Registration and information here
