2013 Heritage Home Tour: Made in Portland

The Giesy/Failing House Five remarkable homes ranging in date from 1874-1957 will be open on Saturday, July 27 for the 4th Annual Heritage Home Tour, presented by Portland’s Architectural Heritage Center. Tour one of architect Joseph Jacobberger’s finest Arts and Crafts creations, the Giesy/Failing House (1913), and visit a cast-iron front commercial building (1874) turned home for Thomas Lauderdale and headquarters for his band, Pink Martini. The tour is a rare opportunity for an inside view as these significant homes are not normally open to the public. Tickets for the tour, which runs from 10 am – 4 pm, are $35.00 for members, and $40.00 for the general public; $15.00 of each ticket is tax deductible. Proceeds support the education, exhibits, and advocacy of the AHC, home base for historic preservation in the Portland metro area.
