AIA WASHINGTON COUNCIL SEEKS OUTSTANDING CIVIC PROJECTS

The Civic Design Awards program identifies public projects that are hallmarks of civic design. The Honor Award is given to a project that not only embodies design excellence, but also shows a certain amount of creative risk taking and problem solving. Civic projects earn the Merit Award by exemplifying their particular type of civic space, and the Citation Award is an acknowledgment of quality design based on individual reasons. General Requirements: Any public agency building in the State of Washington is eligible to be nominated. Agencies may nominate themselves, or be nominated by an AIA member or Component. Although the designing Architect may nominate the project and Public Agency, the award will be given to the Agency for their support quality design. The award program would include individual buildings, master plans, series of buildings (i.e. school districts, universities) or an agency-wide effort. Completed projects and approved but uncompleted designs will be eligible for consideration. Entries cannot have been completed before 2004. If the entry is a series of buildings, the last building in the series must not have been completed before 2004. For more information, please visit their website.
