POSITION: Archaeologist II
SALARY: $28.88, per hour
REPORTS TO: History and Archaeology Manager
LOCATION: Malaga, WA
Basic Functions: Archaeologist II is a professional level position in the History/Archaeology Program. This particular position is for field monitoring of construction activities and other duties as assigned. The incumbent will conduct archaeological monitoring on a project basis. Incumbent is expected to monitor work in all phases of archaeological projects and understand site recording, mapping, photography, and site interpretations. Experience using GPS and GIS Technology, graphic programs, and either lithic analysis or faunal analysis preferred. The ability to identify human remains (as opposed to faunal remains) is preferred. Incumbent will conduct documentation of and daily logs for monitoring construction activities and monitoring the actions of non-tribal archaeologists. The incumbent will prepare short monitoring reports. Incumbent will complete other tasks pertaining to this position as assigned.
