Bigelow House in Olympia Seeks Part-time Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator Opportunity! Olympia Historical Society and Bigelow House Museum (OHS-BHM) is seeking a volunteer to manage our volunteer staff for Bigelow House Museum tours and events. All training and support will be provided. Most duties may be performed from home via internet & phone. Estimated commitment: 1-4 hrs per week. The coordinator may serve as a tour/event docent as well, but is not required to do so. A great opportunity to be a part of this growing organization! Duties Maintain online volunteer contact list: Update contact information as needed. Currently there are approximately 20 regular volunteers. Assign volunteers for regular open hours, tours by appointment and special events. Respond to email & voicemail requests for tours. Accessed on site or remotely from your home via internet and phone. Process new volunteers recruits. Respond to volunteer queries and schedule training with experienced volunteers. Organize Docent Meetings (2 per year) Informal gatherings to connect trainees to established volunteers and air questions or concerns docents may have.  Docent meetings conducted by an OHS-BHM board member.
