BOB GREENGO, PROFESSOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY, PASSES

 

Robert E. Greengo Professor of Anthropology University of Washington Robert “Bob” Greengo, professor emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Washington, died of natural causes on May 8, 2012.  Following his service in the US Army during WWII. He earned a Master's Degree at the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Archaeology. He moved to the University of Washington in 1957 where his career spanned over 30 years in the Dept. of Anthropology. We will remember him for his  many years leading archeological  investigations Washington including the Puget Sound area and along the Columbia River. He also was an expert in Pre-Columbian Meso-American history, which he researched with frequent trips to Mexico. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations may be made to the Burke Museum, Archaeology Gift Fund, Box 353010, Seattle, WA 98195.
