BROWN BAG LUNCH PRESENTATION ON HISTORIC YAKIMA VALLEY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

Dr. Ken Johnsen of Kent will be giving a presentation on the history of the Yakima Valley Transportation Company (YVTC) system on Wednesday, April 6th at noon at the Yakima Valley Museum. Dr. Johnsen’s presentation is part of the Museum’s Lunch and Learn program and is free and open to the public. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the YVTC once provided freight and passenger transportation radiating out from downtown Yakima and across the entire valley. The YVTC Association (of which Dr. Johnsen is a member) now works to preserve the heritage of the system through interpretation, excursion rides on the trolleys, and rehabilitation of the historic trolley barn and power station in Yakima.
