Cemetery Grants Now Available

We are excited to announce that grant applications are now open for our Historic Cemetery Preservation Program Grant. This year we will be awarding over $500,000 in grant money with a maximum grant award of $50,000. Since 2017, the Historic Cemetery Grant Program has provided 53 grants to support the preservation and interpretation of historic cemeteries across the state. Our goal is to help you preserve outstanding examples of the state’s historical heritage, enable historic cemeteries to continue to serve their communities, and to honor the military veterans buried within them. Any cemetery within the state of Washington that contains five or more burials, with at least one burial more than 50 years old, is eligible for this grant program.

Applications are due: October 31, 2023.
