Happy New Year! You’re invited to the 2016 CLG Commissioner Training, which is scheduled for 9:30am-4pm, on March 15th, at the Tacoma Convention Center, Room 318. Please confirm your attendance and lunch order by January 31st, the admission fee is $40 for those not under the sponsoring organizations. Snacks and beverages, including coffee, will also be provided. I have attached the draft agenda for the day. This year, the speakers are accepting case studies that you may wish to discuss, especially for the last session, which will focus on issues of integrity versus cultural significance for potential landmarks. If you would like to submit a case study for discussion, please email that to me with your reservation. Lunch options (choose one and pick a soft drink or bottle of water): Grilled Veggie Wrap Ham and Swiss Sandwich Roast Beef and Provolone Sandwich Please let me know if none of these options meet your dietary restrictions and I will find a substitute. Featured speakers include Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation staff—Kim Gant, Michael Houser, and Nicholas Vann; Todd Scott and Jennifer Meisner from King County Historic Preservation; and Eugenia Woo from Historic Seattle . Come learn about preparing CLG Grant Applications, SOI Standards and Design Review, LPC Meeting Procedures, Assessing and Listing Mid-Century Resources, Character Defining Features, Landmark Nominations, and Issues of Integrity. This event is sponsored by the City of Tacoma, DAHP, Historic Seattle, and the King County Historic Preservation Program, with special thanks to 4Culture.
