Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area Archaeologist Position

OUTREACH NOTICE The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is filling a permanent GS-0193-12 Archeologist in Hood River, OR. We hope to advertise the position in early winter 2017. Our goal is to have a successful candidate selected in time to transition with the current incumbent. The Columbia River Gorge is world renowned for its complex and diverse cultural history. Tribal occupation in the region is marked by ancient villages, images, legendary sites, monuments and traditional resource areas. The River people have never left the area and are integral in our understanding the importance of the river. Six treaty tribes and numerous other tribes have legal and cultural ties to the Gorge and are close working partners in the identification and management of cultural resources in the area.
