Cultural Section Chief position at USACE Portland District

About the Position:
This position is in the Environmental Branch of the Programs, Planning and Project Management Division. This Cultural Resources Section Chief will provide technical and administrative supervision for staff who conduct historic, cultural and tribal consultation and compliance for all District Civil Works projects. This includes the National Historic Preservation Act, the Archeological Resources Protection Act, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, among others. We coordinate, consult, and work with tribes and two state historic preservation offices on a multitude of projects and issues. Cultural resources management and protection, fish and wildlife conservation and restoration, access to sacred sites, water resource development, flood damage reduction, permitting actions and environmental restoration are just some of the areas in which the Corps consults.
