DAHP, FINALIST FOR NATIONAL AWARD ON TECHNOLOGY

Allyson Brooks announced that the Washington State Historic Preservation Office’s searchable WISAARD website/data base and statewide archeological predictive model is a finalist for a national award from the American Council for Technology (ACT) - Industry Advisory Council (IAC), a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to improving government through the application of information technology. ACT-IAC provides an objective, ethical and trusted forum where government and industry exchange information and collaborate on technology issues in the public sector. They will announce the winner on May 24, 2010, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.    Full press release:  ACT ANNOUNCES FINALISTS FOR 2010   15 Federal, State, and Non-Profit Agencies Make the Final Cut  FAIRFAX, Va. – April 15, 2010 –  To qualify, agency programs had to demonstrate that they met stringent criteria in five categories: 
  1. The programs are intergovernmental
  2. The programs demonstrate operational eligibility
  3. The programs transform the business and improve the operation of government
  4. The programs reflect the President’s open government initiative and are transparent, participatory, and collaborative
  5. The programs advance open government
   All the finalists have been invited to attend this year’s Management of Change Conference from May 23-25 in Philadelphia, and to exhibit at the government-only Intergovernmental Solutions Showcase. These finalists will showcase their best practices examples for the 400 plus government and industry conference attendees.  "These finalists once again demonstrate how forward thinking government agencies are when it comes to adopting innovative technologies to meet mission and business results in creative and beneficial ways," said Prashant Gaur, ACT President. "Once again, we’re very proud to showcase the best of the best. This showcase reinforces government’s role as an innovator, and encourages these agencies to share their ideas for the ultimate benefit of our citizens."  The finalists are:  The American Council for Technology (ACT) today announced 15 finalists for the 2010 ACT Intergovernmental Solutions Awards (ISA). A committee of government and industry IT professionals, led by co-chairs, Darlene Meskell, Director, Intergovernmental Solutions, Office of Citizen Services and Communications, General Services Administration, and Elaine Dauphin, Vice President, GWAC COE, Computer Sciences Corporation, chose the finalists. The finalists represent federal and state agencies as well as one non-profit agency that clearly demonstrate collaboration between two or more government agencies, and innovative use of technology to improve citizen service delivery. The winners will be announced on Monday, May 24th at the 30th Annual Management of Change Conference (MOC).
