Get Ready for Another Great Historic Seattle Program Year!

Historic Seattle is pleased to offer a wide variety of local and out of town tours, lectures, fairs, and special events in 2013 that expand your views of Seattle and environs and give insight into its architectural treasures.
  • Learning from Historic Sites meetings and tours take place at the Women’s University Club, Holy Names Academy, Eastside Heritage Center, and El Centro de la Raza.
  • Open to View is an exclusive opportunity to visit an Arthur Loveless-designed English revival estate in West Seattle, and a Lionel Pries-designed modern residence in Northeast Seattle.
  • Design Arts film nights at Washington Hall in February explore California Art & Crafts architecture. September Arts and Crafts lectures examine the Arts & Crafts home inside and out.
  • The popular Preserving Utilities series includes tours of the Paramount Theatre and the new Historic Theatres Library, the Volunteer Park Conservatory, King Street Station, and stone on and in downtown Seattle buildings.
  • Preserving Your Old House presents the third annual Building Renovation Fair at Washington Hall, an opportunity to meet and get advice from the experts—the region’s most passionate and committed professionals and craftspeople in the business of restoring and rehabilitating older buildings correctly.
  • In partnership with the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, the Frye Art Museum, and the Sorrento Hotel, Historic Seattle offers 3-hour tours of First Hill Neighborhood with selected interiors in May and July.
  • Other local tours of interest include Capitol Hill apartment buildings and Sand Point Naval Air Station.
  • Historic Seattle offers a five day/four night tour to Chicago in late October to explore its rich architectural legacy. Closer to home, there will be a one day tour to Everett in July.
  • On May 14, Historic Seattle presents its 5th Annual Preservation Awards at Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford.
