GOVERNOR'S 2010 SMART COMMUNITIES AWARD NOMINATIONS SOUGHT! GET RECOGNIZED FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLANNING

The Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking nominations for the Governor's 2010 Smart Communities Awards. Nominations must be submitted by mail or email to Commerce by Wednesday May 5th. Nominations can be made in 3 categories: Smart Vision for comprehensive planning; Smart Choice for implementation of a comprehensive plan; and Smart Partnership for development projects. Planning and implementation of historic preservation and cultural resource protection efforts could fit nicely in any of these categories. Also, three awards will be given in each category for nominations from large and small jurisdictions as well as counties.
