HERITAGE CAPITAL FUND WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED

Since 1997, the Heritage Capital Projects Fund (HCPF) has supported local leaders in communities across the state as they have worked to preserve our heritage, interpret its meaning, and serve the public. HCPF grants have assisted 204 local heritage projects, resulting in the construction of new museums and interpretive centers, additions to heritage facilities, improvements to archives and museum collection storage, preservation and reuse of historic structures, restoration of historic ships, and rehabilitation of historic railroad equipment. Workshops for potential applicants for the 2013-2015 biennium HCPF grants will be held at the following times and places: Thursday, March 22 – State Capital Museum  8:30 a.m. to 12 noon 211 21st Avenue SW, Olympia, Washington 98501 http://www.washingtonhistory.org/scmoc/default.aspx Monday, March 26 – Moses Lake Museum and Art Center 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 401 S. The HCPF advisory panel will produce a ranked list of up to $10 million in new projects. The Washington State Historical Society will include a list of projects in its proposed 2013-2015 capital budget, which will be considered by the Governor and Legislature.
