HERITAGE CAUCUS GEARS UP FOR NEW SESSION - SEEKS PRESENTATION PROPOSALS

The 2013 legislative session begins in about six weeks, and we are now accepting proposals for presentations during the regular meetings of the Heritage Caucus. As a reminder, presentations need to be 10 minutes or less, and must fit into one of the following prioritized categories:
  1. Immediate policy issues; pending legislation; current initiatives
  2. Relevant or upcoming policy issues; proposed future legislation or initiatives
  3. Overviews of agency and heritage organization activity (current exhibits, programs, etc.)
Please keep in mind that the budget will continue to be the focus of the Legislature this session, and we will be reserving significant Caucus time for discussions related to the budget and implementation policies. This is a long session so I imagine we will be able to schedule most requests, but there are no guarantees. Provide the following information in your proposal, and send to us via email:
  1. presentation title
  2. names, titles, and organizational affiliation of presenters
  3. a detailed outline of your presentation, including its priority category from the list above
  4. technological needs (DVD, computer, internet access, projector, and screen are available)
  5. If needed please provide preferred dates (we can’t guarantee you’ll get your selection but we’ll try)
We will notify presenters as soon as possible about scheduling. Thanks for your participation in Heritage Caucus. Finally, a brief reminder that anyone can be added to the email lists for Heritage Caucus. Feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested. For more information or to be added to the email list, feel free to contact Mark Vessey at the Washington State Historical Society at Mvessey@wshs.wa.gov.
