Historic Churches of Everett Tour

July 17, 1-4pm, Saturday Starts at Trinity Episcopal Church 2301 Hoyt Avenue; $15 public/$10 members, any heritage group  Inspired by this year's 100th anniversary of the First Presbyterian Church and a popular 2010 calendar, local churches will hold an open house day this summer for visitors to explore and learn about unique architecture, amazing stained glass, and wonderful halls of worship. Preservation group Historic Everett has included eight historic sacred places to share with the public in this once in a decade local tour. Many of the churches will feature short performances and refreshments. They will be open from 1-4pm and tickets with maps will be available on the day of the event. 

Out of Town Tour: Historic Bellingham

August 14, 8:30-4:30pm, Saturday Board charter bus at Everett Station 3201 Smith Avenue; $60 pubic/$55 members, any heritage group Limited space; RSVP Historic Everett at 425-530-2722 Join us for the day to tour the city to the north. We explore downtown, tour several buildings including the Whatcom Museum, Mt. Baker Theatre, and drive through wonderful neighborhoods full of beautiful classic homes. Stops on the WWU campus and in Fairhaven showcase the blend of then and now. Bellingham has more older homes and Victorian neighborhoods. A growth spurt in the 1920s left the city with some substantial architectural buildings downtown. Having a teacher’s college has shaped the character and vibrancy of Bellingham. A presentation on preservation successes, new historic districts and local history will take place during the tasty box lunch.
