Cast Stone: The materials, times, and the People who built Friday Harbor. Saturday, October 6, 2012, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Meet at the Brickworks, 150 Nichols Street. Join Architectural Historian Boyd Pratt for an enlightening history talk and tour of the Friday Harbor Brick and Tile Company (Brickworks). The tour will feature the buildings in town constructed using the decorative concrete block produced there. Meet at Brickworks after the Chili Cook-off.

Historic Downtown Friday Saturday, October 13, 2012, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Meet at Memorial Park, Front Street @ Spring Street An insider's look at Friday Harbor's colorful past. Lots of good stories, rain or shine. Some hills, walking shoes are recommended. A Walk through Time: Historic Argyle Avenue Saturday, October 20, 2012, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Meet at Acanthus Antiques, 460 Argyle Ave. The Argyle Wagon Road was built by volunteer labor in 1890 and become one of Friday Harbor’s earliest and most notable neighborhoods. Today the houses tell the story of early Friday Harbor’s close-knit and influential families.

Friday Harbor’s Recent Past: How WWII, the automobile and Mel’s Diner changed everything. Saturday, October 27, 2012, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Meet on lawn at San Juan County Courthouse on Second Street. Tour one of Friday Harbor's Post-War neighborhoods and discover how the architecture of the recent past reflected the events of the day.
