Historic Preservation Television TONIGHT: Rise and Fall of Pennsylvania Station

Need a break from the Olympics? For preservationists and architectural historians, a good diversion looks to be tonight’s broadcast of The Rise and Fall of Penn Station on American Experience at 9:00 PM, Tuesday evening February 18^th on KCTS Channel 9. Coming just after the 50^th anniversary of its demolition in 1963, the battle to save Pennsylvania Station is often seen as a major catalyst for the modern historic preservation movement and sparked establishment of the New York Landmarks Commission.
