Job Search for Growth Management Services Asst Managing Director

The WA State Department of Commerce (COM) has announced its search to hire a new Assistant Managing Director for its Growth Management Services office in Olympia. In this position, you will lead a team of committed planning professionals, helping strengthen Washington’s communities. Our office works directly with local governments, other state agencies and interested citizens to help find solutions to address local planning challenges and opportunities. Planners providing training and outreach to help citizens and stakeholders understand planning, local government and growth management.  In this position, you would be the assistant managing director, responsible for managing the Olympia office as part of the unit’s management team. You would be second in command to the managing director and would be critical to guiding unit culture in the Olympia office. You would also be responsible for the technical assistance team providing service in western Washington.
