LES TONKIN, SEATTLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ARCHITECT

Leslie Tonkin, one of the state’s leading historic preservation architects, passed away in late March. From his office in the Buttnick Building in Pioneer Square, Les was passionate for the preservation and rehabilitation of historic buildings throughout Seattle and the state.  He was also dedicated to providing decent housing for low-income members of the community. Always upbeat, he was generous in giving to causes and projects he believed in.  State Historic Preservation Officer Allyson Brooks and DAHP extend condolences to Les’ family, friends, and colleagues. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 30th, at 1:30 pm at the Palace Ballroom at 2100 5th Avenue.
