The National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) is seeking an experienced full-time Director of Government Relations. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the NSCHPO federal legislative agenda with particular focus on the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) and other federal historic preservation legislation and funding mechanisms. The ideal candidate will possess experience in federal advocacy, outstanding communications skills, confidence in juggling multiple tasks and an outgoing, positive attitude. Experience in historic preservation is a major plus – but not necessarily required. NCSHPO is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), professional association representing the State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPOs) in the 50 states, eight territories, and the District of Columbia.
