NOT TO MISS PRESENTATION: LOST HISTORIC PHOTOS FOUND

On Thursday, October 18th at 6:00 pm, Kelsey Doncaster, Historian for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) in the Bureau's Yakima office, will share his amazing discovery of historic photographs taken by BOR personnel in the 1920s and 30s. This was the heyday of early irrigation infrastructure design and construction in Central Washington, and BOR photographers documented the communities and landscapes impacted by the now historic irrigation facilities. These records have been lost since the 1930s until recently discovered in the basement of the Kittitas Reclamation District office in Ellensburg. During his presentation, Kelsey will share a select number of the 2,000 images as well as his adventures in locating and researching this treasure trove of historic documentation. The presentation will be given at the Kittitas County Historical Museum in historic Downtown Ellensburg.
