Open House and Tour at North Cascades Gateway Center (formerly Northern State Hospital) September 14

The North Cascades Gateway Center (formerly the Northern State Hospital) is having an open house on September14, 2013. It is from 9 am to 3 pm.  There will be walking tours of the campus and the chapel (Hub) will be open for people to go into and photograph.  The basement of the hub has been converted into a museum of Northern State Hospital and will be open to view with a video of patients working the fields that was taken by a doctor.  We will also have books that were written about Northern State there with their authors.  It is free to the public. Directions to the North Cascades Gateway Center: 24909 Hub Drive Sedro Woolley, WA 98284 From  I-5 N or S Take the Hwy 20 exit and continue through Sedro Woolley until you reach Fruitdale Road - turn left onto Fruitdale and follow for several blocks until you reach a fork (Thompson Drive) There is a dirt parking lot off of Fruitdale to the right where you should park (there will be signage) - Cascade Job Corps will provide a bus to take you into the campus.  The campus will NOT be open to car traffic.
