Focusing on Historic Preservation and Downtown Revitalization Thursday May 12, 2011 1:30-5:00pm Whitman Hotel Walla Walla, WA

In coordination with the Department of Commerce and the Planning Association of Washington, the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation is hosting a Custom Short Course on Local Planning Focusing on Historic Preservation and Downtown Revitalization as part of their 2011 conference, "RevitalizeWA – A Main Street and Preservation Conference”.

The Short Course is a great training opportunity for mayors, council members, planning commission members, historic preservation board members, downtown association members, city clerks and staff, administrators, attorneys, planning consultants and citizens to learn more about planning and community development, how goals and strategies can be integrated,  roles in the planning process, and how to be effectively involved.  Three segments will be presented by volunteer professionals with expertise on the legal basis of planning in Washington, principles and programs for preservation planning, and integrating preservation and downtown revitalization with comprehensive planning and implementation.

All are welcome to attend this Short Course at no charge. Non-conference attendees must check in at the conference registration desk and pick up a pass to attend these free training sessions.
