PLAY BINGO ON 9/6 TO HELP REHAB HISTORIC BARN

Lakewood-based Partners for Parks is hosting a fun evening of food and bingo to help raise money to rehabilitate the historic Dairy Barn at the City's Waughop Lake Park. The party begins at 6:00 on Friday September 6 at the McGavick Center at Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood.

Now owned and managed by the Lakewood Parks & Recreation Department, the Dairy Barn is one of the last surviving structures that comprised the once sprawling farm complex developed by Western State Hospital (WSH) to employ patients by growing crops and tending to livestock. Operating in the early 20th century, the hospital farm was widely regarded as one of the most modern, efficient, and productive farms in the state. To find a new use, the parks department and Partners for Parks have joined forces to rehabilitate the Dairy Barn as an events center.

To purchase tickets at $50.00 and for more information, go to the Partners for Parks website at: http://www.partnersforparks.net/
