POSITION: Archaeologist Sr.
SALARY: $30.14-$31.98 per hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
LOCATION: History and Archaeology; Nespelem, Washington
Basic Functions: The Archaeologist Senior is an Exempt professional position. The incumbent will prepare scopes of work and budgets for projects. Experience using GPS and GIS technology, graphic programs, and either lithic analysis or historic-era artifact analysis is preferred. Incumbent will review Section 106 compliance letters and documents. This position is supervised by the Program Manager, but may also be supervised by the Tribal Archaeologist, Project Director, or field Director as applicable for a given project. May be required to supervise or assist in the training of less experienced staff in field procedures and methodologies. Other duties as assigned. (this means you have to be able to run a project from beginning to end)
Education and Training:
Requires a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology with emphasis in History, Archaeology, or Cultural Resources Management, AND four (4) years archaeological field experience in prehistoric archaeology with an emphasis in CRM contract work, two (2) of which must be at a supervisory level.
Requires a valid driver’s license and must be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance.
Must be willing to become certified boat operator for reservoir fieldwork.
