PRESERVE AMERICA EXECUTIVE ORDER REPORT TO THE PRESIDENT NOW AVAILABLE

The federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) announces the availability of the third “Preserve America Executive Order Report to the President.” This 80 page report summarizes the state of the federal government’s extensive inventory of historic properties. It also examines issues that are critical to the management of these holdings and how they relate to major challenges confronting the nation, such as economic development and job creation and advancing a sustainable federal government. The document also includes several case studies featuring selected federal agency preservation initiatives. One case study focuses on the contribution of Seattle’s Preservation Green Lab to sustainable development. The full document can be viewed or downloaded from the ACHP website at www.achp.gov. Washington State has two members of the ACHP: Horace Foxall of Seattle and Jack Williams of Snohomish.
