PROCESS AND PRACTICE OF SUSTAINABLE PRESERVATION PRACTICES WORKSHOP IN SEATTLE

Seattle, WA — December 8, 2010 in cooperation with the National Park Service, Pacific West Region Discuss the process and practice of using sustainable preservation strategies for historic structures. The environmental goal of “reduce, reuse, recycle” can enhance the capital cost competitiveness of preservation projects. Review the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards used to assess building performance. Focus on preservation challenges relating to energy efficiency, windows, lighting, indoor air quality, HVAC, and local and national codes and regulations. An agenda is available online. Instructor.
