Course Description
 
This course discusses both the dynamic process of negotiating agreements under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and the techniques of writing the memoranda of agreement, programmatic agreements, and other agreement documents that result from consultation. Understanding both process and technique are essential to reaching desired results from the Section 106 process in an efficient and low-conflict manner.
 
After completion of the workshop, participants will understand:

  • When to use different kinds of Section 106 agreements
  • Alternatives to reaching agreement
