STATEWIDE MAIN STREET COORDINATOR HIRED

DAHP and the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation are pleased to announce the hiring of our new Washington State Main Street Coordinator.  The Trust received nearly 40 letters of interest and resumes from highly qualified candidates from across the Country, and we are thrilled to have found Sarah Hansen, who we believe is the perfect fit for this position, right here in Washington State.    Sarah has a solid foundation and experience in community revitalization, the Main Street Four-Point Approach®, historic preservation, and real estate development.  She has worked on a variety of projects with communities large and small, urban and rural.   While working with the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the Mountains Plains Office in Denver, CO, Sarah helped establish and develop statewide Main Street Programs in Wyoming and Montana and she retains strong ties with staff at the National Main Street Center.   At Colorado Preservation, Inc. (CPI), Sarah gained valuable experience advocating for preservation issues with local elected officials and the state legislature.  She also wrote grants, solicited sponsorships, and helped plan and execute CPI’s highly successful annual Saving Places conference.   Sarah’s experience in real estate development includes managing historic rehabilitation projects with Architectural Heritage Foundation in Boston, MA, and working on leasing and property management issues with ConoverBond Development in Spokane, WA.   Most recently, Sarah has served as professional staff to the newly created Pioneer Square/International District Community Preservation & Development Authority in Seattle, WA.  Sarah is energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about community revitalization and historic preservation.   I have no doubt that she will enthusiastically dive into her new role as Washington’s Main Street Coordinator.  Sarah will soon be set up in the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation's offices with e-mail, phone, etc., so she’ll be ready to hit the ground running next week.
