VA SEEKS ARCHAEOLOGIST IN WALLA WALLA

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an archaeologist for a three-year appointment.  This position is located in the Facilities Support Service at the VA Medical Center, Walla Walla, WA.  As an Archeologist/Cultural Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of the VA Medical Center cultural resource program, providing day-to-day compliance with the National Historical Preservation Act Archaeological and Historic Preservation Act; the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); the Archeological Resources Protection Act, and Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).  This position is critical to the facility compliance with the NHAP that places significant requirement son federal agencies in section 106 consultation process dealing with tribal governments, State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO) and the public.
