WA STATE PARKS SEEKS INPUT ON COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is currently developing an update to its Cultural Resource Management Policy. The main focus of the update is to include a new Collections Management section to guide the long-range stewardship and use of a wide range of artifacts and historic documents within the Agency’s care.  Minor revisions to current policies related to the disciplines of Historic Preservation and Archaeology are also included. We are currently seeking  public input in this process. We invite you to participate by reviewing our Draft Cultural Resource Management Policy and providing to us your thoughts and ideas. You can access a copy of the draft policy electronically here. Comments received prior to September 10, 2010 will be considered in the development of final staff policy recommendations. If you are interested in participating please send your comments to: Project lead: Alicia Woods E-mail: cultural.resources@parks.wa.gov Phone: (360) 902-0939  Fax: (360) 586-0207 Mail: P.O.
