RFP/Q Issued for Redevelopment of Historic Georgia-Pacific Co. Building Near Olympia Waterfront
The City of Olympia has issued a Request for Proposals/Qualifications for redevelopment of a parcel in the north downtown area of the city. The parcel contains the Georgia-Pacific Building, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. While the RFP/Q references the National Register designation, preservation of the building in whole or in part is a preference, but not a requirement of proposals. The building benefits from a great location across from the popular Farmer’s Market; near waterfront restaurants, hotels, and offices; and a few blocks north of the city’s historic commercial core. Historic designation also means a certified historic rehabilitation would be eligible for preservation tax incentives. The RFP can be viewed here.
Proposals must be submitted by June 3, 2013. A pre-submission conference is set for Wednesday, May 1.
