Historic Preservation Month
Phoney Coloney - Americana in the Pacific Northwest
Happy Preservation Month 2026!
In honor of the Spirit of '76... Join us in May for a celebration of Americana in the Pacific Northwest. For National Historic Preservation Month we will be looking at all things Colonial or as we like to say: "Phoney Coloney!" On "Faux Mount Vernon Mondays" we will be looking at replicas of George Washington's beloved home, right here in Washington State. On Tuesdays we will take a closer look at some of the decorative details that go into building Colonial Revival buildings. For "Williamsburg to Ellensburg Wednesdays" we will explore the specific architectural substyles that are found within the Colonial Revial style. Thursday's we will revisit properties throughout that state that were built as part of the bicentennial celebration in 1976 (and our now turing 50 years old!). And we will close out the weeks on "Founding Father Fridays" with a look at communities who have embraced Americana as a theme!
Be sure to tune in each day of the week for the entire month of May on our social media.
