A new study just came across the national list-serv and it is one that was really needed. Here is an opportunity from the US EPA for assistance to communities who are working to revitalize neighborhoods affected by Superfund/brownfield sites or working on implementing a Complete Streets project. The WA Dept, of Commerce is working to complete the second phase of its multi-year effort to address land-use compatibility issues amongst military installations in the state and nearby communities affected by operations. Commerce is now working on drafting a guidebook set for completion in early 2019. Tacoma's North End Neighborhood Council (NENC) and Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) is hosting an outdoor event this Saturday September 22 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm with a focus on the future of the Cushman Substation, listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a City of Tacoma designated Landmark. Columbia River Inter-Tribal Enforcement Office will host a 1.5 day ARPA/Archaeology for Law Enforcement Training on October 30-31st, in Hood River, Oregon.  This training is for Law Enforcement, Detectives, Prosecutors, Tribal Monitors, Park Rangers, Archaeologists, and Resource Stewards.

Please spread the word, the NPS is accepting nominations for the Secretary of the Interior's 2018 Historic Preservation Awards.

Attached is a document explaining how to nominate someone under the four different categories (Federal, State, Tribal and Certified Local Government). That means you can nominate a federal employee, tribal employee, state employee or CLG (local government) employee. 

Deadline for submitting a nomination is November 30, 2018.
