In Washington State, the Historic Tax Credit (HTC) has attracted over 250 projects for a total project-related private investment of $975 million. Recently, DAHP has been seeing an increase in interest for projects outside of Seattle, Tacoma and Spokane as general awareness of the program continues to grow. In 2012 alone, $78 million was spent in private investment on certified rehabilitation expenditures, which could be a positive indicator of economic growth in the construction industry.... more
